A few from the other day. I was sitting on a rock at the edge of the pond, sat there for a little while as the bird started to feel comfortable with my presence "there was like 15-20 Great Egrets and a few Snowy Egrets at my local watering hole, the bird was 10-15 yards from me and started caring less about me being there, it's concentration was on it's breakfast.

1. Waiting patiently.

Great set.
Excellent control of the whites (clouds helped I guess),
Thank you, it was a bit overcast, but still too much light, I bumped up the shutter speed to 4000 at f 6.3, and under exposed by -1/3 EV, also did some adjustment in PP using DXO and Affinity Photo. DXO Clear View Plus can be a life saver for over exposed shots "to a certain extend", especially with lighter tones.

This is with no PP.

Whatever you did, John, the tones and detail are beautiful. Here in Florida we pray for overcast!
Thank you, we have the same problem here with white birds:D. You just need to underexpose a bit and bump up the shutter speed. I take a few shots and then make my adjustments accordingly.

Some B&W conversions, with some slight vignetting, and white border frame.

Really an excellent set, John. The isolation, that lovely water and the action make for some great shots. Really nicely done.
