I'm still slogging through the several thousand images that I shot at Merritt and decided to post a few here. These were shot with the D2H / 300mm 2.8. As you can see, the lighting was rather severe, and in all cases the birds were back lit against a very glary sky.

  4. Dont care how the background or lighting is, GREAT shots Frank. Question, do you sleep with that lens. LOL!!!! Great job

  5. I like them all, very nice pattern in the top of the wing on #2 that look like a sun with rays.

I love the translucency of the wings in the first few shots!
  7. Great serie Frank. The #2 is really stylish with the white background. It looks like a japanese masterpiece of painting.
  8. Wow Frank, these are just great. Sure wish I could have been there with you when we were visiting Florida. Makes me want two things, rather three, A faster camera, beautiful subjects and your skill. Nice series.

    Kevin & Gale,

    It was fun, huh? :p

No, I don't sleep with it, but I do dream about it.

    Gilles, Lin, Dao, Jim,

I hope that you can all join us the next time (Keith too). Thanks to each of you for the kind words. ;-)
  10. Frank, those are some amazing shots. My favorite in #2. Excellent focus and capture at the peak of action. Well done.

    Hi Flew,

I am really enjoying this site. Congrats on its success !

What can I say about these images.....Perfect. What makes them special compared to most avian images is your artistic compositions.

    Kudos !

  12. Frank,

    Simply spectacular !!!
