Great Gray Owl Successful Hunt

Warning: The owl did make a kill. If you do not wish to see a dead baby rodent, don't click through.
After watching the owl sit, preen, and look around for over half an hour he hopped up and down a couple of times with wings spread. Shortly after he took to the air right next to the perch he had been using and dove into the tall grass. I lost sight of him for nearly 10 minutes until he poked his head up holding his prize. (looks like a baby red squirrel) Luckily for me, and much to my delight, he returned to the same perch. After some tinkering with his prey and some "scowling" he retreated back into the woods.
