I use "PopUpCop Internet Irritation Inhibitor" and it blocked whatever that site may have been using.....

PopUpCop works so well, I have to disable it (an easy click) often in order to use some web functions...... it has a very user friendly and definable feature set. There is a "free" version, but I bought the regular version quite some time ago, and still love it - when I close Windows it clears all the places I want cleared, including cookies, but saves any cookies from sites I put into its Cookie Management list.
