At the pond yesterday watching the Green Heron hunt for lunch...it was an intriguing time, I could just see the Greenie talking to itself.

"Ok, I think I see something swimming over there...steady now ol' boy.."

    "Aha...I've <gurgle>Gotcha<gurgle>!"

    "Pfffffffffft. Dangit...I missed"

"Ewww...that water doesn't taste too good."

At this point he moves to another spot and I started shooting at something else only to hear a splash and I shot back to him quickly.

(With mouth full) "Heh, stupid photographer missed the catch of the day."

"Ok...this thing is kinda big. Let's try to just flip it right in there"

"Ack...go down fishy...just learn to live with your fate!"

Yet that was not enough and he continued to look for more food...using that long neck as leverage to get a lock on it's target.

    Thanks for looking.
  2. Well done, including the flip!!!
  3. Nicely done, Dave. You even got it's reflection.

Thanks Gary and David...I had seen others get the flip but never thought I would have the chance (I had never seen these green heron's actually catch anything before). I feel lucky to have gotten it and it was at the very end of my shotgunning the whole series.

Thanks Frank! I liked the face plant and tongue shot too...they were 2 that made me smile while processing the shots.
