Green Heron?

    I think this is considered a Green Heron. Saw him fishing at the pond yesterday, although the ducks quickly chased him off when I rounded the corner so I only was able to get a few shots.

    Thanks for the help on the ID Gary...I wish I had my longer lens with me but I was testing out my new 80-200 AF-D that I just acquired...so far this lens rocks with great IQ.

    Thanks everyone for your comments. I'm not sure why the 2nd shot seems to have more color, but could it be that you can actually see the orange legs and thus it just appears more colorful? It could have had to do with the sun as well as there were clouds in the sky and the sun was ducking in behind them occasionally.
