Grey Heron in the UK

  1. One of the things that has amazes me about the 'Bird Forum,' is the number of GBH's that you are able to photograph. You are lucky if you see one in the in the UK let alone photograph one. To get this shot I had to wait for a hour behind a stone wall and I was using a D2H + 1.4X Kenko Pro.300 coupled to an 80-400mm VR set at 400mm. and I as you can see the subject is still not large in the frame. Having said that I am rather pleased with it, especially as this bird normally stalks its prey amongst the reeds and rarely comes out into the open.

    Best wishes Bob F.

Wonder where you normally see Grey Herons. Never even heard of a GREY heron.

    Good catch.

Guess you will have to sit by the reeds with some fish :>)))
