Grey Seals at Helgoland, North Sea

  1. Hi,
during our trip to Helgoland we did not only shoot birds, there is also a grey seal colony at the "Dune", a small island close to Helgoland. We were lucky to find 15-20 seals lying in the sun at the beach. They are very used to visitors, so we could approach to 15 meters without any problems. Hope you like the pics...

Here's Helgoland's only traffic light. It's on the beach, no cars 50 Kilometers around (they're forbidden on Helgoland), probably warning before planes arrive at the small airport nearby...

  2. Nice series Andreas. I've never been to Helgoland, should do so someday. I especially like #3, the seal looks like taking a picture of you, peeking through a camera with one eye.
