  1. Hi All

We have different colour phases of these guys. I was lucky enough to find three different ones last Sept. in Whiteshell Provincial Park east of Winnipeg. A trip to the refrigerator ensured they'd pose for me. They recovered quickly.

    Cheers,

    Larry

Hi Larry, appreciate your letting us know how these shots were made. You did well with these images. Fairly even lighting with no glaring reflections, something hard to accomplish when photographing wet and shiny creatures.

Very good shots Larry, and I also appreciate the background info. I've learned so much about the wonders of nature from posts like this one. Pretty good intro to the Cafe too. Welcome!!

  4. Thanks Miko and Frank.

Shooting details: these were taken outside with a D200 and AF 200 f4, 1/60, f11 or f16, manual focus, Auto WB. SB800 with the diffuser, iTTL, -0.7 EV. It was cloudy.

    Cheers,

    Larry
