Lovely shot Joe. It must have been nice to be shooting in a location where you have over 4 hours of golden light. 8)

Thanks to you all for your kind comments. Shooting in Alaska during the summer required stamina. We shot from first light until it was too dark to shoot available light. So 16 hour shooting days were common. The sun didn't get too high in the sky so we had very sweet light for much of the morning and late afternoon. That combined with plentiful wildlife made for an exceptional experience. I highly recommend Alaska as a photo destination and we're going back next year.

When you mentioned that it was a bear glamour shot, I had expected to at least see a few pieces of lace.

Hi Joe,

It sounds like you had a perfect time in Alaska: good weather, a great group of passionate photographers and friends, and plenty of opportunities, with some stunning shots to show for! Well done, sir! :lol:

I went to a fishing trip (combined with some picture taking) in June and was very happy with the results too: no bears in sight though, but other kinds of mammals and some birds too ;-) If you like, check out the gallery here:
