Guns from the British Battleship Hood - Faroe Islands

  1. I'll thy this here since it is ship related.
    There is a fort (Fort Torshavn) at the harbor in Torshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands.

    These two large guns were removed from the British Battleship Hood and replaced with newer ones during World War II. The British occupied the Faroe Islands after Denmark fell. The Hood then left the Faroe Islands and was sunk by the Bismark. This is all that remains of the battleship.


    The fort also had four older brass cannons from the 1780-1815 era:

    They were finely decorated (the "C7" was for Danish King Christian the 7th):
