Has anyone modified a D70 for wired release?

Discussion in 'Nikon DX DSLR Forum' started by Monterey Jack, Jun 18, 2007.

  1. Seen somewhere that all you need to do is solder 3 wires to the shutter release button and hook them up to a jack that fits Canons wired remote and you can have a remote release that works just the same as the on camera release? Anyone ever try this?
  2. where would you plug the jack in? sound like you would have to drill a hole on your body to add the port to hook up the cord.

  3. Comes in handy for astronomy. And IR release is a PITA unless you are in front of the camera. As for drilling a hole, thats not a problem. Can be put under the side cover where the video cable plug is. Honestly thats my only complaint about the D70. No wired remote capability.

  4. Thanks. Right now looking for another D70 on Flea-bay that needs some repair. Easier to tear into a non functioning one first.
