    Shot at about 40', using SB800, tripod, 300 AFS f4 + TCE1.4 + KenkoPro1.4, and Kirk Foot...

Took some other test shots without flash. I was pretty amazed...either these TC's are very good or the 300 is just too sharp.

  2. That's pretty cool Jeff. I have both of those tc's and never thought to stack them. Does the camera know what's going on or do you have to give it a little help?

  3. So what is the actual focal length for that configuration?

  4. Actually, the dog's face and muzzle look out of proportion to me.

Acutally, Riley (and most Collies) have the longest nose you ever seen. That's pretty much what he looks like.

    Lets see, 300 * 1.4 = 420, 1.4 * 420 = 588mm without the 1.5 factor.

    823 with it.

    Here is a "normal" image:

I don't think the perspective is any different.

The only thing you lose is AF, and it doesn't report the right focal length.

  9. Thanks for posting a "normal" photo of your lovely doggie, too!

    Actually, it's a 2x factor - you can't get something from nothing.
One 1.4x TC looses 1 stop. Adding another 1.4x TC looses another. With the 300/4 you end up with 600mm f8.

I ment the 1.5 sensor factor. I am wondering if you lose more than 2 stops, due to the number of elements. Anyone know?
