have I Sinned (300 AFS f4 + 2 TC's)?

Shot at about 40', using SB800, tripod, 300 AFS f4 + TCE1.4 + KenkoPro1.4, and Kirk Foot...

Took some other test shots without flash. I was pretty amazed...either these TC's are very good or the 300 is just too sharp.

Acutally, Riley (and most Collies) have the longest nose you ever seen. That's pretty much what he looks like.

Lets see, 300 * 1.4 = 420, 1.4 * 420 = 588mm without the 1.5 factor.

823 with it.

The only thing you lose is AF, and it doesn't report the right focal length.

Actually, it's a 2x factor - you can't get something from nothing.
One 1.4x TC looses 1 stop. Adding another 1.4x TC looses another. With the 300/4 you end up with 600mm f8.

I ment the 1.5 sensor factor. I am wondering if you lose more than 2 stops, due to the number of elements. Anyone know?
