Saw this hawk while I was walking back to my car and slowly approached him/her. He/she landed on a spot light (use to light up the oak tree at night), thus not the full body shot. Wish it was on a natural perch.
Also, I could not be sure what kind of hawk this is, please help!

I darkened the BG just like most suggested which reflects a more accurate light of the time of the day I shot it. Darkened and layer masked.

Agree that the first was better. The darker background is too close in tone to the hawk. Like the shot either way.
