hb-29 on 80-200

Has anybody used this adapter and the hb-29 lens hood on the Nikon 80-200mm af-d two ring?

Yep, I have this adapter on the 80-200mm AFD.

Its ok. The only negatives is its expensive and when you try to screw the hood on, it will sometimes remove the adapter.

I looked into this but decided to get the HB-7 hood instead. I am curious if both hoods shield the front element similarly though...

Yep, thats the only reason. But the lens hood does make the whole setup REALLY stand out. Everyone will notice you.
