HDR in CS5?

Want to try out some HDR work, already using Photomatix demo version.

Have heard that the HDR software in CS5 is pretty good, but is it a match on Photomatix Pro?

Already have CS4 so given the cost there is not much in it if i upgrade to CS5 or buy the Photomatix software.

Also, when do i get to the stage when i can no longer upgrade my CS4 and will have to shell out for a full package? For example if i skip CS5, will i have to pay full price for CS6 (when it is released) if that makes sense?

Cheers

I believe the upgrade stage is limited 3 versions so if you have CS4, the last would be CS7. But if you use ACR, The improvements in ACR 6.x alone are well worth upgrade to CS5. Not sure about the HDR in CS5 as I use(when I do use it) Photomatix Pro which I just upgraded.

Your cs4 will do it. Do you like the results of it? CS does not make it "overboard" it's an honest HDR that stacks different exposures etc. of the same scene

Photoshop CS5 has a major rework of the HDR function and works much better than CS4:wink:
