I been seeing quite a few HDR shots on the forum. I was wondering how they are done. I know that you take several shots and then combine them with software. How many shots do you take and what EV?

I'm heading out west in a few days and thought I would try some...

Thanks

HDR's are usually done with atleast three shots with about plus or minus 2 EV. Bracket a shot with the desired offset and number of photos. I would use a tripod.

Here is an HDR I did yesterday.

Background: Completed in 1937, this historic edifice came to life in the mid 1940’s as the “Home of Army Medicine.” Named after Brigadier General Roger Brooke, M.D., Brooke Army Medical Center housed the base hospital, medical units and extensive medical training facilities until 1996, when the new Brooke Army Medical Center was opened at the southeast corner of the Post. Built in the Spanish Baroque (or Renaissance) architectural style and located at the head of the parade grounds, Old BAMC is the focal point of the Post. Standing seven stories tall and containing 210,000 rentable square feet of space, the building features materials and architectural details which cannot be economically reproduced today. Old BAMC is now 100% leased to USARSO, Pharmacoeconomic Center, and IMCOM.
