    I missed this one. Nice image! I have seen evidence of these birds but never have caught one in the viewfinder. I waited by a fence once for one to come get the impaled lizard but he never showed up.

    You have some very good shots of him. Some time when you have some time to kill park a good ways off from where you see him and just watch the area. I will bet that he has sort of a regular rout that he runs, from the dead snag to the big bush to the odd tree to the tall weed to the power line and back to the dead snag. He may have a favorite perch at each one. Knowing this you can plan ahead on lighting, comp., and background. Find a spot where you can leave him a cool bug to find. By the way his nick name is the "butcher bird". Good hunting!
