Here are 3 more from my lunch break last week. I usually try to get side shots of Mallards as they are so fast. This trip I decided it was time for me to try to get some head on shots.

    Here are my results.

one more, not exactly head on but close..

    Nice Patrick,
Those (any) quackers are tough to shoot.

The 4th one is a real prize.

Thanks Gale, I really like number 4 too.

  8. It is really interesting how wide their bodies look when coming straight in like that. Nice shots Patrick.
  9. Cool shots Patrick, you did a great job on all but I too like #4. what was your set up on the ol x! looks like you are making it sing, tough target, great shots!
  10. Sharpness is dead ON. You did an excellent job. Thanks for sharing.

  12. Very well done Patrick.
    Thanks for sharing.
  13. These are so very good. It is hard to know how difficult it is to get the results you did until one tries this. I suck at it so far. I am going to keep trying and hope just once I can get half way close to yours. Nice job Patrick.
  14. Very Nice shots Patrick!!! All are very good, but #4 is spectacular.

Thanks guys! They are really fun to try to capture. Most of my duck shots are bad but a few come out ok.

    Thanks for the kind words.

I'm sure that Ron R could get a higher keeper rate than you or I, but let's face it; these guys are like little flapping bullets, and we only had a second or so to get lined up, get a focus lock, get them framed properly, and fire. If I could get 100% keepers in that situation, I'd probably quit my day job and do it for a living (like Ron ).

    You did good.
  17. That is a tough thing for the camera to focus on an object coming right at your camera, you have done a great job...thanks
