I did the team headshots tonight, one after the other, simple setup

I just like the simplicity of the look and in my opinion a gazzillion times better than the usual mugshots I see in a footy program.

I did something similar a few years back for the newspaper, but it wasn't as pronounced as what you did. I used an SB-600 shot through an umbrella camera right, triggered by the built in flash on the D300 which also doubled as a bit of fill. I like yours much better though!

yeah, I had 30 minutes to setup in the clubroom, had my pop-up backdrop (I need to sort out a couple of wrinkles in some shots) anf I used my studio strobe and softbox 45 degrees to the left, fill is bouncing off a whiteboard (handy find) just off camera to the right, D3 and 24-70 at about 50mm.

Got the senior girls team to do Monday night, need to work out a plan for them, might do a over the shoulder look for them, dunno yet
