Yesterday I went kayaking for the first time with my camera on the Wacissa River (a river fed from a spring). It was  -totally amazing. I am not a bird photographer but I can see how this could get addictive.

Here are the heron's that I saw.

    Tricolored Heron.

Great Blue Heron - not a great pic but it was the best I could do with what I had.

Noooooo, don't say that. Well I will just have to stay satisfied with my 70 - 300 VR to do the job. I don't foresee my husband allowing me to get any more lenses.
  4. I have also settled down with 70-300VR. With a one year kid around, this is the appropriate lens to have in day trips.
BTW, thanks for posting the nice birds. Once again you guys are very lucky in Florida (in this regard).

Yes we are lucky in Florida. Here in North Florida we have the most beautiful places to visit. This river is a 20 minute drive from my house. The 70 - 300 is a great carry around lens. I have it on my camera 95% of the time.
