Help I.D. this bird for me

Hi All!
Not a great shot but does anyone know what this is? Shot this on the bay side of Sandy Hook, NJ.

Hi Anthony,

It is almost certainly a Green Heron in first summer plumage. Looks exactly like the one in Sibley's Guide.

Anthony - I agree with Bob -- it's a Green Heron. Looks exactly like the one that was fishing on the pond behind my home this morning.

Hi Mike! This guy was hanging out on that wooden deck where you and Gordon had your tripods setup on the bay side of Sandy Hook.

Thanks Frank! I did a little research on these guys and they migrate all the the way to South America...that's a long flight from here in Jersey!
