help identify these please.

  1. I saw these in a cornfield on my drive in to work yesterday, are they a type of crane? It looks like a family of them.

    D50 and 18-200vr shot @200mm and cropped to almost 100%.

  7. Can anyone tell if the adults are female and male? they look the same to me although the one on the far right seemed to be more alert to me being nearby and was looking at me hard.
