Went to the beach this weekend and shot some of these birds. Unfortunately, I lost my field guide, and i'm having a hard time identifying this species.

The lighting wasn't particularly forgiving that day as the sky was filled with ominous, fast moving storm clouds, so it was hard to predict where and when the lighting would be optimal. Regardless of the dark head, I like the reflection aspect and stance of the bird in this photo, and I hope you enjoy it.

P.S., if anyone could point me to a decent birding identifying website, I would appreciate it.

My guesses would be Least or Western Sandpiper, but it'd be easier with a crop and a brighter shot. I use iBird Pro on my iPhone.
