Help: Marco Flash Bracket

Discussion in 'General flash photography, lighting, and technique' started by ScottR, Oct 2, 2008.

  1. I was walking my dog today and thinking about a marco ring type flash. I would love to buy one but I just can't justify the expense right now. Then I started thinking  and had what I thought was a great idea. Make a bracket to hold my two SB-600 out on the side of the macro lens. Well I did some searching and found this bracket by Bogen. Does anyone have experience with this bracket or something similar?

    Any thoughts would be helpful.

  2. I have the stroboframe variety. While it doesn't allow the cam to rotate it has interesting flash arm pivots that let you move them in more directions. This type of bracket has been around a long time. It is simple and works well. Keep looking you will find more options.
  3. Anthony,

I looked for the Stroboframe online but I couldn't find it. I found a few others but they either had only one flash bracket or they needed to be mounted to the lens bracket.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Anyone else out there have more info?
