I'm not much of a Birder but these little guys are all over my yard. They are quite fascinating to watch. Can anyone tell me what they are?

    Thanks,

OK, I assumed these were some very common bird because there were so many in my yard but no one can tell me what they are????

  3. Lin, I think its a house sparrow otherwise known as an English sparrow. These sparrows were introduced to North America from Europe and have spread all over North America from about Latitude 60 degrees south. They are, as you have noted, very common. Like most sparrows and finches, however, I find they are not all that easy to get a good shot of because, most of the time, they move quite quickly.

  4. Have to concur with Dennis, female house sparrow.......good ID Dennis, had to pull the old book out. LOL

Nice shot Lin. You need to spend more time shooting birdies. They really are fun.
