HELP with Unsharp Mask on Luminosity Channel in LAB Mode.

Discussion in 'Retouching and Post Processing' started by GeoKost, Mar 25, 2007.

  1. Ok, first of all, real new to PS CS2. I also know, RTFM.

Now, after switching to LAB, making a copy of the original, switching to LUMINOSITY, then applying Unsharp Mask, I am ready to switch back to RGB.

Switching back to RGB, it says that all layer information will be lost, flatten, or cancel.

Do I just flatten the image? And is the Unsharp Mask still intack?

Or if someone has a workflow I could follow for this, it would help me.

    Thank you, George.

    lololol
RTFM...PS manual..!!!!!! No way. That is asking way to much. Thats a monster and it is not a very good manual..
Learn as the need comes along:>)))

Merge down or flatten if you only have 1 copy of the background.
    Meaning just one layer ....
Then you can convert back to RGB when you are ready to.... (Done with lab mode)
Yes you changes are still there

  3. Oh yes, you are right about the manual, LOL.

Thanks Gale, thats just what I was needing to know.

    George.
