  2. Hi John, it looks like they had a fire a few years ago. Nice image.
     
  3. It sure does Gordon. I know on Klingman's Dome (the highest point in the Smokey's) a pest called the Wooly Adelgid destroyed a lot of the Frazier Fur trees. It looked like the trees had been hit by a forest fire. Not sure if this is the same area or not. These look like they have been hit by a fire.

    Bryan, yes this is near Clingman's Dome. As I recall, it didn't look like fire damage - more like they had just died. So your guess is probably right. I've seen trees look like that when the land they stood on was underwater.
