    No cropping, straight from the camera.

    Dave,

    You are making the same point that I did a couple of months ago with my 'Alien Flower' series. You can definitely get some excellent close-up shots with a good medium telephoto as you have illustrated so well here. 8)

    Thanks Frank.. I still wouldn't give up my 105 Micro, but that was almost to easy.. :)
     
  4. Dave, these are all excellent photos!!! ...but lets us not confuse close-up with macro :roll: even with the 500D...
    You're doing good keeping that 105micro... ;-)

  6. Nice stuff Dave. I did some similar shots of a Butterfly with my 24-85mm. Still, I think I'll keep the 105 Micro.

    I think they are great Dave.

    I prefer close ups persoonally to macro for framing etc.

    I forgot to compliment you on your photos. They're terrific! I love capturing images ofbeautiful flowers (with an occasional bug or two). :wink:
