I took the D80 and my new Nikkor 70-300VR to Chase Field in Phoenix to watch the Diamondbacks play the Dodgers. Randy Johnson was pitching so I thought it would be a good opportunity to try out my new glass. I discovered that the lens just isn't fast enough for indoor baseball so I had to really crank up the ISO. These can't hold a candle to the shots Frank took at Wrigley with his 300 f/2.8, but I was still fairly pleased considering the limitations of the camera and glass. Here are a few of the high ISO shots.

Definitely better than I would have expected given the conditions, and excellent captures.
  5. Nice series of shots. You did well under the tough lighting conditions. Always felt the 70-300VR was the best bang for day game shooting.

    Thanks for sharing.
  6. Great job, Thanks for posting.
