Had a rare opportunity to watch my Alma Mater in the Holiday Bowl last night. (Although it seems they come here every other year, now).

I decided to take the D300 along with my favorite "everything lens", the 18-200 VR.

Here are some of the results. Hope you enjoy.

Regards,

Paul

Daughter with a couple of her close friends before the game. I was dialing the camera in...os slightly overexposed.

Howdy, t-sip!

Good pictures! I love that combination (D300 + 18-200VR). I am amazed at the quality of the shots I get from that lens, especially given its coverage.

These photos have some very nice color.
Yes, the combo worked great. I remember how impressed I was with 18-200 VR when I first got the D200 and it. I was in Chicago and took some great photos of the city. The lens works just as well as the D300. I'm pretty much using settings out of the box, with High ISO and Aperture priority and it worked very well.

Nice series looks like a great time Paul
It was great. Events like this make me feel young again for a few minutes. I used to be on the sideline taking Yearbook and Newspaper photos for Texas and it brings all those memories back again...of course that was with a fast Nikon F and Tri-x back in the late sixties.

You had the D300 back in 2006?
Thanks Sam. I'll update my Copyright message. It definitely is long in the tooth...especially after the 1st of this year.

You boys really know how to put a sporting event on.
We had a lot of fun, too!

Thanks, Aggie! It is the perfect lens for doing 'color' at a football game...or travel anytime and it is definitely a good match with the D300.
