Had a good bug shooting day. The garden was full of hoverflies, all different species. These are a few I managed to get a shot of.

1. Episyrphus balteatus

2. Syrphus ribesii

3. Myathropa florae

4. Helophilus pendulus

5. This is a tachnid fly, Gonia divisa, so not a hoverfly.

6. I was not the only one enjoying the hoverflies. This crab spider had caught a meal.

7. And finally, my first in-flight dragonfly! Not terribly sharp, but I'm still quite chuffed with it.

Number 4 is my favorite. I looked at your original and it is crisp and there is so much detail I had to look at it a couple of times to take it all in. Very nice!

Thanks for looking and commenting eveyone.

Also thanks for the dragonfly ID Torben. I thought it was a brown hawker, but wasn't 100% sure.
