get the symbol for my MBP's hard drive on my desktop? I'm so used to having it there, like it. But I can't seem to get it there. Thanks!

click on the finder, then press "⌘ ," or open preferences.

this will open finder's preferences and there should be a check box for showing hard drives on the desktop.

Pretty easy ...

1. Open the Finder. Then click Finder, Preferences. You should see this:

Subscribe to see EXIF info for this image (if available)

2. Click the box(es) next to the items (Hard disks, External disks, etc) you want to see on your desktop, then close Finder Preferences.

3. Done
