No (hidden) allen screws where the angled foot meets the body similar to the 200-400, 300 /2.8, and 200 /2.0?

  3. yes there are....gee for 8k they coulda thrown in a wrench

  4. It is easy, the screws are hidden in the foot, just hold the lens upside down and look at the base of the foot.

You need an allen wrench that comes with the new foot. Either, RRS. Kirkphoto or Wimberley replacement feet are good choices for the 400, I use the Wimbereley for mine.

I went with RRS but all 3 brands will do you a great job. Don't over torque the allen screw and strip the threads. Tight, but not overly tight!

  6. and a little dab of BLUE Locktite

Don't forget 4th generation, that's what I have on mine.

  8. I bought the Wimberly foot for my 200-400 VR, fits pretty close to the lens, can barely be my finger between them, I like using the foot for a carry handle. I've heard the others, RRS and Kirk don't fit so close, therefore giving you more finger room.
