How to get shutter actuations?

I should know this, but don't. What's the easiest way to get at this?

FWIW, D700 and I use a Mac.

Dennis, grab a recent .jpg image and use an EXIF viewer (Opanda, for example, free). Look at the complete EXIF data and toward the bottom there's usually a field 'shutter actuations'.

Note that you don't want to save the .jpg using "Save for Web" in PS, as it strips out all the EXIF data.

Turns out "Preview" has a Tools function that displays the count. Couldn't be easier.

Try this...

Apple's own built in Preview app does it:

1) Open image in Preview
2) press Command-i
3) Click on the “EXIF” tab at the top, and scroll down
4) You should see “Imagenumber” towards the bottom.

I cannot find my shutter actuations. D3000
Opened Aperture 3 and made sure EXIF data was showing, but couldn't find shutter count...

I have asked this question before:

Why don't standard photo edit programs (eg Capture NX, Photoshop, Lightroom..) provide this feature?

I just don't get it...

Nevermind I found it in Photoshop!

27,369 actuations. Thought I had a bit more lol. Thats awesome
