How to mount a D2X to a WH200 quick release plate?

Discussion in 'Nikon DX DSLR Forum' started by Gerald Plowman, Apr 18, 2007.

  1. Just received a Kirk QR plate for the D2X and discover I would have to mount the camera at right angles to the WH 200 plate using it. Am I missing something here? Thanks.

Also, take a look at the RRS MPR-CL and MPR-CLII rails. Either will do what you want.

I believe the cheaper one of the lot is from Wimberley.

The M-8 perpendicular plate goes for USD 85.

Be mindful of the bracket length if you expect to be able to adjust the nodal point for pano's or balance the weight of the camera, lens, flash, flash mounting brackets, and so on.
  5. Thank you to all that replied here. . . . Bill's suggested product was "out of stock" so I went to Wimberley where I purchased the M-8. Thanks again.

MPR-CLII has a bubble level on it in the event your tripod does not...

It's only cheaper if you don't already own one of the RRS rails :)
  8. I had just received the Kirk camera clamp. Thanks.
  9. Thanks, have a "level bubble" on my tripod and one on the leveling base.
