I took this shot last week and composition wise, this is not a good
shot at all. I really wanted to see more space on the left where the
hummer is looking at,but this is an out-of-frame shot.
This morning, while I was changing sugar water in the feeder, this same
immature male Costa's flew by and he ate his food right infront of my
face. He was at less than a feet from me and I took a good look at
him. A very tiny bird but my camera got a much better details than my
naked eyes.

Which frame do you like better?

Hi,

I like the second shot better. I agree with you about the out of frame and composition. In addition, the bird appears to be flying out of the frame. Therefore, I would use the negatives to the advantage and make the crop very tight as you did with the second crop.

Good shot; I love the sharpness and your capture of the bird's iridescence.

Regards,
