Humpback Whales Near Grimsey Island, Iceland

  1. We had two encounters with Humpback Whales while sailing around Iceland. This was the first one, enroute from Langanes Peninsula to Grimsey Island, Iceland. Also a White-beaked Dolphin was seen.

    You can see how close to the ship it was, I was standing on the upper foredeck and those heads are people down on the bow:

    I moved down to the bow for the next surfacing. You can see the white flippers under the water beside the whale:

    A few hours later we saw a White-beaked Dolphin near the ship:
