The story of this little gal does have a happy ending. She got into a guys studio and was flying around for almost an hour. She was near exhaustion from not eating and all the energy expended and lay dying on the floor. The artist/photographer/owner scooped her up, with no protest, and put her beak into the feeder just outside. He stoked her throat, getting her to take nourishment. He has had several experiences like this but he didn't hold much hope for her, she was pretty far gone. After 5-10 minutes, she seemed to start drinking on her own. A few minutes later, she was full, but still very weak. He placed her on this branch and we all waited. (I waited with the 990! Only took one shot, didn't want to add to the trauma) After about 10 minutes, she flew away. Throughout the day, she was seen often at the feeder, so it seems she recovered, but it was a very close call.
