First time that I’ve seen a GBH go after a duckling. The end came instantly for the duck.

I am left without words... I have never seen this either, and it just swallowed the whole thing??? Impressive. Great capture though.

I have also seen them chasing squirrels before, but never catch one.

I saw a series of photos of a GBH catching and eating a muskrat! I think anything smaller then a GBH is a potential meal for one. This ia a cool capture! And for me not surprising in the least.

I have some slides of a white morph GBH in ENP catch a large turtle (10 inch shell) by the neck, turn it so it had it by the shell and then fly off. Not sure what it did with it may be learned from gull to drop it on a hard surface to break it up? (gulls do that with clams).
