Critique I did find a Purple gallinule nest!

I have never found a gallinule nest before- nice pleasant surprise.
These guys are not common here, and are realllllllyy skittish.
Manual or small spot focus, as they are always surrounded by reeds.
They really are beautiful birds.
I stay a respectable 20+ yards from the nest floating by on the boat, and they don't seem to react or mind.
Will give me another nest to watch!

What a great find! I didn't know they nested in the moss. I just assumed they nested in the reeds/grasses along the water.

It will be interesting to see more images from this location.

I am assuming it is a nest. The moss is about 18" above the water line. Two birds were flying in and out of the opening, and going back to the right behind the moss. I'll float by again in a couple of days.

Nice find and great shots. For Purple Gals you can see them every day at Venetian Gardens over in Leesburg. Chicks I'm sure are on the way soon and they can be photographed out in the open.
