I didn't get a 2nd D200, and I didn't pre-order a D300 either, but ...

... I did buy a D40 (super price), to use as a back cap for my 45/2.8 pancake, a body just for that lens, well, the body was less than the lens! And I can leave it in Auto ISO and the mode I live in: A - what more does that ikle lens need? Super small for the carry a camera everywhere idea! 6mega is fine and dandy for the deal I got.

I think I'll get a D80 sometime soon too, to use as a 'proper' 2nd dSLR.

Heck, why not. It was either a 2nd D200 ... or for less I can get a D40 + D80+grip. The three give me more options, super small with the D40+45, D80+18-70 as two alternative or even combined walkabout ... right up to D200+grip+180

I was so so so tempted when I got my D200 to get 2x D80 instead. I'm really pleased I got the D200 though, definately the right move. It does those few extra things, full use with the AIS for example, and the 1/8000, and the 5fps ... all of which I've used. But having a 2nd body - it doesn't need all of that. I can drop a little to the D80 and still use the D200 as the main body.

Its unlikely that I'd use all 3x cameras on the same day - but who knows!

Three super cameras, I dare not even handle the D2 line or the D3 or the D300 ... not my budget at all!

I have the D80 and enjoy the feel and using it . I have hovered over a D40 many times but each time I pick it up it feels like a 400D and I put it down again . If the right deal came up I would get one though and leave my 10-20mm on it .

Hmm i use two cameras, a D200 and a D50 which cover most of my shooting. The D200 has the 500mm and the D50 the wider lenses.

I was tempted to get a third, but why? I dont have that many hands ;)
