I have struggled with how to best get good Bee in Flight shots. Today I started experimenting with not only settings, but my setup. What I settled on was to ditch the flash, bump the ISO and shoot bursts with manual focus. Worked pretty well and this is what I came up with.

All shots are at around ISO3200, aperture ranging from f3.8 to f5 and ss ranging from 1/500 to 1/800. I'm pretty happy with the results and amazed at the detail and low noise from the D7000 at ISO 3200.

Coming in for a landing.

Very cool Nates. I really like number 3, the way the colors blend together. Great job!

Besides "nailing" the bee, the colors are beautiful!

The wonderful thing about natural light shots I'm finding...the colors and blending of colors comes out much better than using flash.

Nice work Nate!
Thanks Chad.
