On well, it was more like a splash and not a plunge. But my local camera store called me to say the Tamron 11-18 was in. I went right down to try it out. Well, I walked out of the store with it. I ran home took a few snaps and threw them up on this site. All but the second house where shot at 11mm the second house was 18mm.

I particularly like this one...
11mm; f/5.6; 1/160 sec

I doubt you're going to have buyer's remorse over that purchase, Scott. Those are terrific results! Congratulations on making the right move 8).

Thanks for the kind words about my shots

What kind of wazzle beast is that on flower in the second image?

Russ,

I have no idea what a wazzle is, but the cone-flower has a simple bumble bee on it. Obviously, I would have liked to take that shot with my 90mm macro, but I was testing the 11-18. At 11mm I was just inches away.
