I browsed through the wedding pictures in your portfolio and I have no doubts in my mind that you have used the money wisely. Whatever you used in the past you did use it well!
Those pictures looked very professional to me and I know your clients will have no objection recommending you for similar jobs. I was also impressed with the shot of the child in the foreground using a wide angle. You do know your stuff!
I do not need to tell you what you already know. The Nikon body and lenses you bought are first quality and highly professional and they should serve you well in your business for years to come.
