I joined the club today with a D800... Going in to work a lil early tomorrow so I can't try it out. We have a pond with all sorts of birds right behind my office so I'm gonna try it out with my 300. I can't wait... I'm very exited!!!!

Congrats. It's a different experience to be sure. I have an "E" version so don't know if it is D800 in general or the E that is so different. But is NICE

Thanks Dan. I've seen some of your beautiful posted images!!! I'm exited to try it out. And I especially can't wait to see the cropping capabilities.

Welcome aboard, Joe!
I'll invoice you soon for the club dues. Don't worry, they pale in comparison to the D800 sales price.

Mermaids are Sat. 6/22 if you need fertile shooting conditions.
That's where I gave my D800 a nice field test last year: https://www.nikoncafe.com/vforums/showthread.php?t=338801

Nice... did you sell any of your bodies or just added it?
I added to the collection... Was going to sell off the D300, but I'm going to keep it and give it to my son. He just turned 9 and loves to take picture. Gee, wonder how THAT happened!!! LOL I'm going to pic up a used 35 or 50mm.

I have NO PLANS WHATSOEVER of getting rid of my beloved D3s or D700!!! LOL

I have similar plans for my children, let me know how it goes :)

You seem to have left your slump, happy shooting :)

HEHE. Yes Kris... SLOWLY I'm coming out of my slump. I've been shooting my son's hockey team and have begun to find the enjoyment I was missing!!

The only foreseeable problem I'm going to have with the D300 for my son is that his hands are small. He's already got a decent P/S that he takes with him almost everywhere we go, so I know he's really going to enjoy the results with the D300 once he's able to hold it stead on his own.
