Tried 4:3 crop and hated it but the 3:2 isn't all that clever either. Any suggestions?
I kinda like this 4x6 crop:
I think his right eye being cutoff is distracting...with it totally cropped out, much better focus on "the look".
Square, full width, start below the chin, to just below the hairline.
Erg, posted this on DPR. Pretty much along the same lines as Chris' suggestions.
Rotate clockwise 5-ish degrees to even out the face. 3:2 crop, eye placed at a good spot, kept hair for framing and use net/hand as diagonal. Slight level to up the exposure, curve for contrast. Separate level and curve to bring out the eye. Dodge & burn, USM, save for web.
