I think the firmware update has done something to my D300

    It seems as if it's suffering from better AF performance! :eek: 

    Maybe not. Could just be a placebo effect kind of thing. I like the shot anyways.

    Nice image.
    I have been wondering whether the firmware update was worth the bother. Do you really think the firmware improved your AF?

    I tend to think firmware upgrades do more harm than good. They scare me! I am that way.

    I feel as if it has. Though, I haven't performed any proper tests. It appears to not hunt as much.

    Hi, I've noticed, my D300 focuses better with Sigma 70-200/2.8 after the update :smile:

    Yeah, after doing a lot of shooting over this weekend, I feel that it truly has improved as well.

  15. Great image....pin sharp and good composition.
    As for auto-focus, focus should be the same.....it's AF speed that may improve. The D3 owners are reporting better AF speed with the new firmware.

    Yes, Sir, it sure was. Handheld while crouched down facing upwards. I am sure I looked really awkward to people passing by :wink:
