Reading my science postings today, something my local political activates have kept me from, I found this unusual story.

This is very close to where I live. It is a fascinating story, unfolding day by day. Even if the first body was escavated in 1944-45, a substantial archeological escavation was not initiated until 2009; it is this escavation that is now about to close.

The latest theory is that this is an invading army, slaughtered by locals most likely after having lost the battle.

It is estimated that more than 200 bodies - and possible up to 1,000 - are burried here; so many that they will not all be recovered.
