You are indeed doomed... but nice pictures anyway
  4. If you are into portraits, yes you are doomed. The 85mm f1.4 lens is a very nice optics and it will serve you well.
I still use my manual 105mm f2.5 AI converted from 1967; a lens that has also served me well.
    Good luck!

  6. Yup.....Big Trouble!
  7. Better you than me!!!!! I've resisted------so far:eek:

    Great shots, BTW.
  8. Wait until you try the 200mm f/2!
  9. This is acute NAS. Resistance is futile. You have been assimilated. Enjoy the ride!

You are lucky! Go and rent the 200/2.0 VR, if you dare. I've borrowed it from my friend for a few shots... the biggest mistake I ever made. I was warned not to play with it, but couldn't resist.
  13. Oh I know what you mean...I'm buying one ASAP! I just can't resist anymore!

anyone that got into Nikon is doomed.

    1975- Nikkormaat w/ f1.4 50mm

    fast forward to
    2008 - D100 (early adopter) D40x, D-300, N-90s.

    12-24, 105 macro, 70-300, 18-200, others

I still laugh about the sage comment posted here:
"When I die, I hope my wife doesn't sell my camera kit for what I told her it cost"
  17. that is hysterical
